I’m getting old enough and having been in business long enough to start seeing how my work is enduring after 10 years. This was my first big project! No excavator , no compactor, no dump truck. Every stone and bit of earth was moved by hand on this one. Proud to see it standing strong after all these years. I’m still as enthusiastic about my career as I was on day one 20 years ago! How could anyone not love #manuallabor !?!?

Tumultuous times call for unprecedented effort to uphold our values and stand for what we believe in. I wish to unify not divide. I’m a person of compromise and respect. Compassion and love for our planet and all it’s inhabitants. I am color blind . My solidarity is strongest with those who work hard and treat others with respect. My division is highest with white men who use my name and ethnicity to promote a completely wrong standard of supremacy. Racism has to end we are all equal. I believe the answer to violence can NEVER be violence. I wish for people to realize we all have so much more in common than not and what divides us carries far less value than what unites us. I’m saddened by recent events. Politically I’m in middle. I have conservative values personally but liberal ideals of respect , inclusiveness and helping those in need and being a good steward of our environment for future generations. I love the word conservation! What I know right now is that we need a leader that respects those who disagree with him and does not incite violence. I want a leader who I can say I want my children to look up to and be proud of. I want a leader that I can say to my children when you grow up you should be more like him. I want a leader that respects women and doesn’t feel he can just grab them by the..., I want a leader that does not reject science when it is inconvenient. I am #nevertrump . From the beginning his lack of morality and compassion has been a showcase of the worst in humanity. He’s been a Democrat and Republican. He has no loyalty to either party. Sadly he almost appears to be most loyal to greed, hatred, bigotry, divisiveness and power. This has to end . This is not what humanity is . Very few are steering us in the complete wrong direction to the detriment of all. I love my country more than any party. I love humanity. I’d rather be poor on the side of righteousness than rich and cold hearted. I’m masked up because I care for others and I believe in science . The problem with politics right now is we are all trying to force our own beliefs on each other when we really just need to respect each other and work together ‘kindness is invincible'

Early spring blooms turn the corner on winter. Helleborus ‘blushing bridesmaid’ and sangunaria ‘bloodroot ‘ are some shady favs of mine. #mainelandscape #plantsofinstagram

New patio with fire pit looking great. Love the circle pattern around the fire pit. Very humbled and grateful to work outside during these uncertain times it’s almost hard to even post my work. So much respect for all the hardworking medical staff out there fighting to keep us healthy and much compassion to all those who have lost their jobs or been sickened by Covid- 19. On the other side of this we will come out stronger, more unified and better prepared for the future with a new willingness to help each other .

After spending my 20’s ski patrolling and coaching freestyle the transition to snow plowing has been tough on my soul. Finally last Thursday it rained in town and snowed in the mountains and what a feeling to drive my truck up without a plow in the snow. My heart is with the winter so to be able to do what I live for was fantastic and plus I got to teach my son @sundayriver and destroy all the glades I love @sugarbush_vt . It was very much needed, finally after so much hard work in 2019 #pownotplow

Old New England dry laid farm wall finally complete and ready for back fill and lawn repair once spring hits! Love my job . Lots of great projects on tap for spring so now it’s time to enjoy the last three weeks of winter and prepare for the busy season #landscape

Starting to get somewhere on this beast of a dry laid farm wall. Hard to appreciate how big the stones are but they’re huge. It’s as wide at the base as it is tall with most stones going their deepest direction into the wall and every other cap stone is 2 feet across. Sleeping great every night and needing yoga in the morning, haha! Love my job! #mainelandscape #drywall

Proud of the many small ways we can help. My Christmas gift to our home , our environment and future generations! Landscaping is all about tree planting and that’s why #teamtrees is where it’s at ! no politics ! Treating our home with respect for earth and our own best interest. Protecting the environment should be the one unifying pact we all make together . It’s just doing what’s right for the air we breathe , the mountains we hike, the land we hunt, the food we grow and the rich biodiversity from which we learn and play! Love our planet more than anything because it is the root of everything

Tradeport paver walkway and granite steps looking good for winter! A nice addition to the plantings that have been in the works the past couple years! #lovewhatyoudo #mainelandscape

Hard to appreciate the scale and scope of this project! One of my all time favorites. So in keeping with the scale of the house and neighborhood. I love the comprehensive lawn reductions and and native and ornamental plants. Thanks @monkeyinmaine for trusting in me to create this for you. I feel like I’m always chasing the perfect end of job photos but this is as good as it gets until spring. Every stone and plant is a labor of love. No such thing as Sunday scaries when you have a dream job #mainelandscape

Took the afternoon off yesterday to shovel a full truckload of leaves from the back of the truck that broke down into the trailer so we could have it towed. Hard to appreciate how dependent we are on our equipment in this industry. Some days are a battle. Always hard to plan for things like this and stay on schedule in the final countdown to winter. Always stay positive setbacks provide new opportunities. #landscape

Nice new patio with granite edger and wedding cake steps set into the surrounding gardens in Portland! Another great day at work in the books! #mainelandscape

Clean and fresh new walkway update. Finished just before dark trying to make it look like we were never there. Not many days left before winter...hahah, ugh!!! Get those good work days while you can. #seasonalbattle

Dream team putting down some 4x4 slabs in Wayne to offer the right scale and style to this unbelievable farmhouse . Woodbury grey granite is as classic as it gets @swenson_granite . Working hard in all weather is another big plus of the best job ever. Rain can’t stop us!

Picking apples with the team is one of many reminders why fall is in a 4 way tie for the best season haha! Trying to make every day the best day yet! #lucky

The fast approaching holiday season sometimes leaves us forgetting how great of a time of year this is in the gardens. There is such an abundance of blooms in this one it keeps the pollinators very busy. I love the planting and garden work as much as stone work but it is so hard to capture the beauty. This shot almost does it justice. This asymmetrical fall garden is loaded with grasses and sage, long blooming roses, viburnum, button bush, beauty berry, yarrow and much more. Our culture is crazy busy and distracted and sometimes it is just calming to tune in to the beauty that surrounds us and let go of anything beyond the moment we’re in #landscape

Asclepius tuberosa and echinacea purpurea looking lovely for all those pollinators out there. Nothing better than our natural world. Our legacy is forever tied to how we care for our home #plantsomething

Great way to adjust for a small grade change with wrap around granite steps supplied @swenson_granite . It provides an abundance of seating and places for plant containers and just looks sharp. Totally timeless. Throw in the #instlawn and it’s the perfect completion.Everyday landscaping is the best working outside working with the hands being creative and active #lovewhatyoudo
